Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known for his role as the star of the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. In his first years of college Meloni became interested in the field of acting. After that, he attended his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films and on television however, it's his character actors on smaller screens that have given him popularity. He has been able to effortlessly play roles of characters from both sides of the law to grab an audience's attention. His initial project was a television show, however, he was later as a detective with the NYPD. He's been nominated numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen appearances. Eyes that are piercing blue on his eyes are thought to be his most attractive characteristic. They have been utilized to portray rough characters as well as give them a sense of humour. People's magazine's 2006 list for Sexiest Men Alive included him.
